The other day, my long time blog sister @muzeness posed an interesting question via Twitter.
My answer to my homegirl was: “Cuz when you stop giving a damn what ppl think, you get rid of a lot of worry. Without worry, life is easier to enjoy.”

I’ve come to realize that I’m completely over the need to dissect life.
I’ve been getting this feeling a lot lately. Between reading books, blogs, Facebook posts, and tweets, I’m bombarded by analysis every single day. Honestly, it’s become mentally exhausting, witnessing every aspect of life debated on an hourly basis.
It makes me wonder if people know how to just BE anymore?
Today’s passages comes from the Book of XV, Chapter “Undeniable.”
This is literally the first song that I listen to every single morning. There are about a dozen quotes from it that I love.
When I’m unrecognizable,
I’m still undeniableMy right hand in the sky
I put this on the Bible
I’mma fly high
cuz I am UNDENIABLE
This is indescribable
Take it where you gotta go
And I just thought yall should know…
With the same sword they knight you
they gon’ good night you with
Sh*t, that’s only half
If they like you
That ain’t even the half of what they might do
Don’t believe me, ask Michael.
See Martin, see Malcolm
See Biggie, see Pac
See success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas
See Ceasar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it’s a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
Media mettles. Niccas sue you, you settle
Every step you take, they remind you ghetto
So it’s tough being Bobby Brown
To be Bobby then, you have to be Bobby now
And the question is, “Is to have had and lost
better than not having at all?
- Coldplay featuring Jay-Z, “Lost (Remix).”
I just finished watching Malcolm X. I knew halfway into the movie that I’d feel compelled to listen to this verse.
